(nursery) pink, yellow & coral idea board

March 20, 2013 By Vanessa 6 Comments

I give you my nursery idea board! Designing Logan’s nursery was so much fun and I’m looking forward to doing it all over again, with a little more frill this time around. Since before we found out that Logan was a boy, I knew that my girl nursery would be yellow & pink. If you haven’t noticed the decor around my blog, I sorta love those colors. They are happy and bright, exactly what I want in a nursery. It’ll be a modern/vintage design (if that even makes sense), with a subtle “You Are My Sunshine” theme to honor our family’s appreciation for the environment.

After looking at way too many crib sets, I found the bedding above by DwellStudio and I was immediately smitten. It’s a tad pricier than I wanted to spend on something that is going to be peed and pooped on, but it is just PERFECT. I’ll be thrifting most of the furniture in the room, so my overpriced bedding is totally justified (or so I tell myself). So, it’ll be a pink and yellow and coral nursery and I’m totally in LOVE with this color pallet!

Speaking of thrifting, I’m currently on the hunt for a French Provincial dresser and nightstand that I can redo and paint coral. I’ll be channeling my inner Destiny for this project. Luckily my dad, king of the thrifters and furniture redo-ers, will be driving up with his electric sander to help me next month. In the meantime, the hunt for the perfect furniture is on! I’ve been scouring craigslist without much luck (thanks flakey sellers) and I plan on hitting up the thrift shops over the weekend. I’ll let you know what I find!

I’m pretty sure that the walls will be pink and I’m still debating if I want to subtly stencil an accent wall with a slightly darker shade of pink. The furniture will be coral and the jury is still out on what type of crib will go in there. Suggestions? I’ll likely be making a lot of the other decor in the room, but above is my inspiration and (before I get a hundred emails) here’s where you can find everything:

Vanessa, this color scheme is beautiful! Decorating a nursery is so much fun. I’ve always been able to find more decor things for my little girl’s room than for my little boy’s room…

I love the pink and yellow combo, Vanessa. The pop of coral for the dresser is going to be GORG! I can’t wait to see how it all turns out! Decorating for baby is so fun.
