(20 crafty days of christmas) hot chocolate, popcorn and beef jerky easy gift ideas

December 16, 2013 By Vanessa 1 Comment

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and its client.

Need a last minute easy gift idea? Pick up some Swiss Miss hot chocolate, Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn and Slim Jim beef jerky on your next trip to Target. I’ll show you how to create 3 easy holiday gifts using these items that will be perfect for your co-workers, neighbors or even the mailman. I made a few batches of the reindeer popcorn for our neighbors, our mailman will be getting the hot chocolate snow globe and my husband’s buddy will be getting the beef jerky bouquet (the perfect “manly” gift). I just love making handmade gifts!

#EasyGift 1: Chocolate Reindeer Popcorn

Ingredients:

Orville Redenbacher’s Smart Pop Mini Bag

1 Cup Chocolate Chips

1/2 Cup Red & Green M&M’s

1/3 Red & Green Confetti Sprinkles

(you’ll also need parchment paper, paper tubs, cellophane wrap and ribbon)

Directions: Pop the Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn mini bag according to package. Spread out popcorn on a piece of parchment paper, removing any remaining seeds. Melt chocolate chips in microwave in 30 second intervals, mixing in between, until melted. Drizzle half the chocolate over the popcorn using a fork. Sprinkle M&M’s and confetti sprinkles over the popcorn and drizzle the remaining chocolate over those. Allow to dry and harden. Package in a paper tub, wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon.

#EasyGift 2: Hot Chocolate Snow Globe

Ingredients:

1 Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate Packet

Marshmallow

Small Clear Baggy

2 Miniature Candy Canes

Decoupage Glue

Foam Brush

Snowmen, Trees and Snowflake Cutouts (I used Martha Stewart’s holiday cutouts)

Empty Plastic Snow Globe

Directions: Use a foam brush to brush a thin layer of decoupage glue over the snowmen, trees and snowflakes. Glue to the inside of the snow globe, making sure that the images can be seen when looking from the outside. Brush a thin layer of decoupage glue over the images, cover the entire inside of the snow globe. Allow to dry. Once dry, place a package of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate, mini marshmallows in a little baggy and 2 miniature candy canes inside.

#EasyGift 3: Slim Jim Bouquet

Ingredients:

10 Slim Jim Sticks

10 Red & White Striped Paper Straws

Hot Glue Gun

Tin or Paper Box Container

Floral Foam

Gift Wrap Tissue Paper

Directions: Hot glue Slim Jim sticks to the paper straws. Cut a piece of floral foam to fit inside of the tin or paper box container. Stick straws into the floral foam. Cover the floral foam with gift wrapping tissue paper.

Don’t forget to grab these coupons before heading to Target for your supplies (I adore the vintage Swiss Miss packaging at Target)!

Save $3 when you buy 4 (FOUR) Orville 6-packs
Save $1 when you buy 5 (FIVE) Slim Jim Giant Twin Packs
