Ever since I found out I was pregnant with a little girl, I was already planning her first birthday party. It was going to be frilly and cute and PINK lol! And then she was born within the same month as her brother and 2 separate full blown parties just wasn’t going to happen. Amelia could care less about themes at this age, so her brother’s super hero obsession won out and she put on a cape and partied with the rest. After planning an elaborate sock monkey first birthday party for Logan, mommy guilt was setting in (I know, I know). So, the fabulous Dream Photography Studio and I teamed up for a first birthday photo shoot just for Amelia.
I decided on a pink lemonade theme. Super sweet with a lot of spunk, just like Amelia. We shot at a nearby park at sunset and it was perfect! My talented mama made the rosette cake and desserts. Remember my diy crate lemonade stand? It had a little date with some bubble gum pink spray paint! Fabric Works made the most darling fabric garland to hang on the stand and the Prettiest Print Shop created a personalized sign with matchable printables throughout the party that completed the look. I can’t wait until Amelia can sell lemonade at her pink stand!
Does that vintage high chair look familiar? I used it for Logan’s sock monkey party and it was red. My dad painted it white for us and even thought she wasn’t a fan of being confined to a chair (told you she’s spunky), I love the makeover! Both of my babies used that chair, I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to part with it. Another sentimental piece at the shoot was that sweet doll. Handmade by Her Bunnies Three and personalized to look just like my baby girl, it is just the sweetest thing. I sent in leftover fabric scraps from Amelia’s pink and yellow nursery and Her Bunnies Three was able to use the fabric to make the doll’s outfit. It melts my heart watching Amelia pretend to feed her baby. It was the perfect first birthday gift and something that I can see her keeping as a family heirloom.
Just like Logan, Amelia wanted nothing to do with her cake. I helped her smash it and she wasn’t too happy about that lol! It’s her party and she can cry if she wants to, right? I’m so glad that we were able to capture this moment in time for our second born and she was able to have her special day too. Now if only I can find time to fill out her baby book…
