Decorating my master bedroom has been on my to do list since we bought our house. That was 5+ years ago. It’s time to create a space that my husband and I love and can escape to at the end of a busy day. Taking inspiration from The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel movie, which is set in India, I decided to bring some color to our builder beige bedroom with a cozy little reading nook. Cost Plus World Market was the perfect place to shop without having to go halfway around the world for Indian decor. While you are there, you can also peruse the Indian food.

After browsing Cost Plus World Market online, I came up with a plan and color scheme and headed to the store. Reds and oranges and yellows were going to liven up my space. All these bold colors are so out of my comfort zone, but they are growing on me and make the space really inviting. I love that I was able to try on these colors on a budget. The rug and throw pillows can easily be interchanged if I decide to go back to my neutrals and Cost Plus World Market has so much to choose from!
I could spend hours browsing the aisles at Cost Plus World Market, getting lost in Mexico or traveling vicariously to China. The Indian decor was my favorite. After tracking down the perfect Indian rug and gauze canopy, I found the perfect Inidan pillows to match and I couldn’t leave without a gorgeous Indian lantern. I knew I wanted a basket of some sort to store my books and I found the perfect metal and wood lidded crate, also from India. I’m in love with my new cozy corner!
A sequel to the popular 2011 original, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel reacquaints us with the beloved characters from the first film – along with some new faces. Sonny decides to open a second hotel, while attempting to plan a traditional Indian wedding to Sunaina. Evelyn and Douglas wonder where their regular dates for chilla pancakes will lead and have now joined the Jaipur workforce. Norman and Carol navigate monogamy and Madge juggles two eligible and very wealthy suitors. This colorful cast is sure to make this movie a must see, if for nothing else than getting to explore India through their eyes.
