Anyone else remember M&M’s® Crispy? Well, they’re back and I ran to the store to grab a bag as soon as I heard the news! My 4 year old sous chef and I decided to turn them into no bake granola bars. We love baking together and this is a fun kid-friendly recipe where he can do most of the steps by himself. His mind was blown that M&M’s® Crispy hadn’t been around for an entire decade and just made a come back. Hopefully they are here to stay because they are so gooood, especially in homemade granola bars! I don’t know why I ever purchased store bought granola bars when they are so easy to make! You’ll have to give this recipe a shot, they’ll be a hit with all ages!
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup butter
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup M&M’s® Crispy
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Head to Walmart and purchase your ingredients. You can find the larger M&M’s® Crispy bags in the candy/baking aisle or the individual sizes (which only contain 180 calories per serving!) in the checkout aisles.
Step 2: Add the honey, butter and brown sugar to a microwavable bowl and microwave for 1 minute or until the butter is melted. Stir until the brown sugar dissolves.
Step 3: Add the oats to the bowl and mix. If you don’t want your chocolate chips to melt, allow to cool before adding them in step 5.
Step 4: Crush the M&M’s® Crispy snacks. You can place them in a food processor or use a rolling pin.
Step 5: Add the M&M’s® Crispy and chocolate chips to the mixture and fold in.
Step 6: Add parchment paper to an 8×8 baking dish and firmly press the mixture into the dish.
Step 7: Refrigerate for a few hours until firm and then cut into bars. Enjoy!
