I always consider Halloween the commencement of “baking season.” It’s the holiday that kick starts my house being filled with sweet treats and the smell of pumpkin spice. However, how many Halloween cupcakes do I really bake every year? Maybe a dozen or so for a playdate, which leaves me with Halloween cupcake liners tucked away in the pantry until next year. Unless I use them to make this adorable banner!
I made this banner for less than $10. Here’s how you can do the same!
MATERIALS
- Construction Paper or Cardstock (I used construction paper since I had it on hand and it is less expensive)
- Large Cupcake Liners and Small Cupcake Liners
- Adhesive Letters. I purchased these at Michaels (don’t forget your coupon)
- Ribbon
- Adhesive
- Scissors
- Optional: Hole Punch
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: I created a banner flag template on a piece of scrap cardstock and traced flags onto my construction paper.
Step 2: Cut out your flags.
Step 3: Flatten your cupcake liners.
Step 4: Glue your small cupcake liner to your larger liner.
Step 5: Stick your letters on each small cupcake liner.
Step 6: Glue your cupcake liners onto your flag.
Step 7: Punch two holes and string your ribbon through the flags (you can also glue your ribbon if you do not have a hole punch).
Step 8: Hang and enjoy! You are ready for Halloween and all your little Trick-or-Treaters!
