They are a lot of work to make from scratch, but Marie Calendar’s Chicken Pot Pies are just like mom used to make. They are delicious with their golden, flaky crust and tastes homemade! I’ll let you in on a little secret, I keep my freezer stocked with Marie Calendar’s Chicken Pot Pies for unexpected holiday guests. They make holiday entertaining a breeze! And if pot pies are in the oven, homemade applesauce better be on the stove! You’ll never buy store bought applesauce again after you make homemade! There are so many things you can do with applesauce, aside from enjoying it on its own. Applesauce pancakes, applesauce muffins, applesauce bread, applesauce cookies…oh the possibilities!
INGREDIENTS
Marie Calendar’s Pot Pies
10 Granny Smith Apples
3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Head to Walmart to pick up your ingredients. Check ibotta for a special offer on 10 or 16oz and family sized Marie Calendar’s Pot Pies.
Step 2: Peel and slice the apples. Combine apples, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, cinnamon and brown sugar together in a large pot. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick.
Step 3: While applesauce is cooking, bake the pot pies according to the package.
Step 4: Add applesauce ingredients to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Step 5: Remove pot pies from the oven and serve with a side of homemade applesauce. Enjoy!
