Homemade Pizza Pocket Recipe for Kids

Have you seen the movie Miracles From Heaven yet? Run out and get the DVD if you haven’t, the Beam family is so inspiring! I won’t give out any spoilers, but the mom in the movie mentions this quote from Albert Einstein, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” What an amazing perspective that is, to be grateful and in awe about even the littlest of things. It makes the hard times much more bearable if we are seeking out miracles along the way. My oldest just turned 6 and he’ll be heading off to kindergarten in a couple weeks. I thought the first day of preschool was tough, but this just seems like such a big milestone. I know I’ll have a good cry on my way home and I also know that he’ll be totally fine. I’ll definitely be seeking out the small miracles as I drop off a piece of me at school that first day. In the meantime, we’re enjoying as much one on one time as we can soak up. He loves helping me in the kitchen and these homemade pizza pockets are easy enough for him to make with little assistance. Watch Miracles From Heaven and you’ll understand the pizza reference.

INGREDIENTS

1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
1 tablespoon pizza sauce (per pocket)
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese (per pocket)
6 pepperonis (per pocket)

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Head to Walmart and purchase your ingredients. While there, pick up the Miracles From Heaven DVD ($1 of your purchase will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network)! Miracles From Heaven is available on Blu-ray, DVD & Digital.

Step 2: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Lay 2 crescent roll triangles to make a rectangle on a baking sheet, as shown below. Press the seems of the dough together, so the triangles don’t come apart.
