Hey superhero fans, this post is for you! Marvel Universe Live will be stopping in Phoenix from September 8 – 10, 2017 and we are counting down the days. Spider-Man, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy join forces with Doctor Strange, master of the mystic arts, in a race against time to recover the Wand of Watoomb before it falls into Loki’s hands. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to see Rocket and Groot in action! Check the website to see if they’ll be stopping in your neck of the woods. Phoenix friends, keep scrolling to the bottom for a discount code. In the meantime, we are making Spider-Man inspired chocolate bark. I scored major cool mom points with this recipe!

SUPPLIES

Spider Chocolate Mold
Black Candy Melts (10oz package)
Red Candy Melts (10oz package)
Blue Candy Melts (1/2 10oz package)
Straw or Chopstick
Parchment Paper
Piping Bag

TUTORIAL

Step 1: Melt black Candy Melts according to the directions on the package. Place into a piping bag and pipe the chocolate into the spider mold. I found my spider mold on Amazon. Allow to fully cool and harden before removing from the mold.

Step 2: Melt the blue and red Candy Melts according to the packages. I recommend microwaving in a microwave safe dish in 30 second increments, mixing in between. Try not to over melt or the chocolate won’t be usable.

Step 3: Spread the red chocolate on a piece of parchment paper. Move to step 4 before it hardens.

Step 4: Dribble the blue on top of the red and then drag a straw or chopstick through both the colors to make a design. You can drag in a straight line to create a pattern like I did below. Move to step 5 before the chocolate hardens.

Step 5: Place the chocolate spiders throughout the red and blue chocolate bark. Allow to cool and completely harden.

Step 6: Once the chocolate hardens, either break by hand or cut into pieces using a knife. Enjoy before heading to Marvel Universe Live!
