The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chase Field hosted my family for the purpose of a review. Our opinions, photos and love for baseball are 100% ours! This post contains affiliate links.
We took the kids to their first Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game and we’ve been hooked ever since! Chase Field is surprisingly kid friendly, with an indoor play area and a miniature wiffle ball field. Kids can also sign up for the free D-backs Kid Club to win cool prizes each game they attend. Because my kids both have July birthdays, we do one big join sibling birthday party for them. I wasn’t surprised when they both requested to celebrate at an Arizona Diamondbacks game and I couldn’t wait to start brainstorming ideas for a baseball birthday party.
I always start my birthday party planning on Etsy and this party was no exception. I found the cutest baseball fabric garland from Grace N Goods on Etsy and knew it’d make for a cute and easy background. The Arizona Diamondbacks kindly offered us a private suite for our party, so all of the decor had to be removable and transportable. The adorable baseball numbers came from Redesign Accessories on Etsy. They made for some adorable photo opts of my new 4 and 7 year olds! They’d also look darling in a baseball themed nursery or bedroom.
My mom created the cake and cookies, just as she does every year. She totally outdid herself with the detailed stitching on the baseball hat and life size fondant baseballs. The baseball cookies looked adorable on a bed of peanuts and the kids devoured them. We were going to nix the cake idea this year due to having to transport in 110+ degree weather, but instead we opted for a faux cake. Yes, the fondant decor was all edible but the inside was all styrofoam. I picked up edible cupcakes near the stadium and we had the best of both worlds! Plus, cupcakes are easier for kids and didn’t involve a cutting fee in the suite.
I’ll continue making matching birthday shirts as long as my kids will let me, and couldn’t wait to craft up a couple baseball tees for the party! I found raglan shirts on Amazon and used my Cricut to cut heat transfer vinyl, that I ironed on to their shirts. The front spelled out their ages in baseball script and I put their names and numerical age on the back. I love how they turned out and if I had more time I would have crafted up shirts for our entire party. They would have made for a cute party favor! You can find a more detailed iron on vinyl tutorial HERE.
A baseball game isn’t complete without the traditional baseball snacks. Luckily, Chase Field had plenty of options for us and we were able to grab Cracker Jack boxes and popcorn for all our guests at the field. The D-backs offers Value Item pricing on several food items, including hot dogs and corn dogs, that worked out great for a large party like ours. The private suites also offer catering that you can arrange prior to the game or when you arrive, which is a convenient option. For party favors, I put together bags that included a baseball bouncy ball, baseball cards and baseball stickers.
There are a few different birthday party packages that the Diamondbacks offers. Each option includes a message to the birthday girl or boy on the jumbotron. I unfortunately missed the photo opt of our kids’ names on the screen, but it was a nice touch from the D-backs! Baxter, the team mascot, also dropped by our suite and started a popcorn fight. He’s quite naughty, you better watch him. Of course, the kids absolutely loved him and thought that was the coolest surprise ever! The most epic birthday party ever ended with a bang, literally. The birthday girl and boy scored VIP passes to watch the fireworks FROM THE FIELD. I doubt we’ll ever top this party!
