Teacher Appreciation Week is approaching and I love coming up with creative ways to show our appreciation. Last year I gave our teachers Reese’s Pieces candy jars, pedicure jars and Starbucks gift cards. This year I wanted to go the more useful route, so I personalized clipboards with adhesive vinyl. The apple says “it takes a big heart to help shape little minds” and I couldn’t think of a better saying for these big hearted teachers! I’ll make sure to attach a gift card for coffee or lunch to the clipboards before gifting. I have a few more teacher gift ideas up my sleeve, so stay tuned!

TUTORIAL
Step 1: Grab your supplies online at Cricut.com, click on “shop” and load up your cart. You’ll need adhesive vinyl in black and green for this project. If it’s not already in your craft room, you’ll also want to get the Cricut Essential Tools. These tools make weeding sooo much easier!
Step 2: Head to Cricut Design Space and open up my Teacher Appreciation Clipboard Cut File. Change the teacher names and resize if necessary.
NOTE: I have been informed that readers are having difficulty customizing this design in Design Space. In that case, you can open a new canvas and insert the apple image (It Takes A Big Heart #M39E839A) sized to W 5.6 x H 5.563. Now insert a text box using Everyday Fonts – A is for Alice at 72 font size and type in the teacher’s name. You will have to purchase the image and font directly from Cricut on Design Space (I do not make a commission from this) before you cut.
Step 3: Load your mat with black adhesive vinyl and cut the teacher names. Load your mat with red adhesive vinyl and cut the apples. Do NOT click on “mirror” and make sure that the vinyl is shiny side up on the mat.
Step 4: Use the Cricut Essential Tools to weed your image. You’ll be removing anything that you don’t want on the clipboard.
Step 5: Transfer the vinyl to transfer tape, as shown below.
Step 6: Adhere the vinyl to the clipboard, slowly peeling the transfer tape away once attached.
Step 7: Add ribbon to the top of the clipboard. Gift to your favorite teacher for Teacher Appreciation Week!
