Bananas are a staple in this household. So, when Chiquita asked me to be a Chiquita Mom I was super excited. Mr. Crafty Nest asked if that meant I was going to meet THE Chiquita lady, you know the lady that wears the fruit on her head (I’m pretty sure he has a secret crush on her). Unfortunately being a Chiquita Mom doesn’t mean I get to meet THE Chiquita lady, but I do get some bananas and awesome recipes out of the gig. In fact, Chiquita sent me a Chiquita Mom Kit that includes a flip book, baby bibs, recipe cards, baby-safe bowl/cup/spoon/fork set, reusable grocery tote bag, and freezer bags.
As many of you know, I’m planning a Sock Monkey themed birthday party for Logan’s 1st and what would a monkey party be without bananas? Banana chips, banana bread, banana candy…I hope my guests like bananas! I found a banana cupcake (doesn’t that sound good?) recipe that I’ll be trying out with my Chiquita bananas this weekend. I’ll let you know how it goes. I might also have to try out Chiquita’s Plantain Chips Recipe and Banana Cornbread Recipe for the party. Anyone have any favorite banana recipes?
