Happy Earth Day! The kiddos and I recently painted a pot at As You Wish Pottery, specifically for a special Earth Day treat. It’s our tradition to make chocolate “dirt” pudding, complete with sour gummy worms, for Earth Day. As the children are mixing and mashing the ingredients, it gives us a chance to chat about how we can protect our planet. Other kid friendly ways to celebrate Earth Day include: picking up trash at the lake, plant a garden, start a compost, make a bird feeder, shop with reusable bags, etc.
INGREDIENTS (serves 4)
1 cup chocolate pudding
1/3 cup whipped topping
6 chocolate sandwich cookies (crushed)
Sour gummy worms
DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Head into As You Wish to paint a pot. Kids can get in on the action too!
Step 2: Once your pot has been fired in the kiln, bring it home and let’s make our chocolate dirt pudding! Start by mixing the chocolate pudding, whipped topping and 2 crushed cookies together.
Step 3: Place chocolate mix into the pot.
Step 4: Dump the rest of the cookie crumbs on top and add gummy worms. Once finished, you can plant some seeds in your pot and watch them grow!
Step 5: Grab a few spoons and dig in!
