Each year we vote on a family Halloween costume theme and I look forward to putting together our costumes! We’ve dressed in dinosaur costumes, fish and fisherman costumes, martian and astronaut costumes, nutcracker and ballerina costumes and Wreck It Ralph family costumes. Each year gets a little harder to decide on a Halloween costume that everyone will love, but the vote was unanimous last year.
Our family Halloween costumes last year were inspired by a board game. Monopoly Gamer (Super Mario version) is our favorite board game to play as a family. It moves faster than traditional Monopoly and we can finish an entire game in a couple hours. Our oldest also really loves creating his own video games on Mario Maker, so Super Mario family Halloween costumes was a big win!

I picked the latter, so I had the privilege of wearing a giant mushroom hat on my head. We took really quick family photos right before trick-or-treating, so you can’t see the “power up” shirt I crafted using my Cricut.
