We recently moved and due to poor drainage issues, had to demo and remodel our front and backyard hardscaping. For a solid 3 days, they were drilling non-stop to remove our fully travertine backyard. We also had some walls and concrete planters that needed to come out (ahem, planters should never go up against the house without some sort of water barrier).

In addition to the loud noise, it was a giant mess that required two giant runs to the dump. Did I mention that the day they started demo, which was totally out of our control, was also the day that the local school district started distance learning? That included my own children. Needless to say, we were feeling pretty bad for our new neighbors. The work needed to be done, but the timing could have been a little better.

We knew we wanted to leave a little something on our neighbors doorsteps as a sort of peace offering. I crafted up these “thank you for putting up with our construction” tags and filled the bags with a nice candle, that will hopefully help everyone to relax a little now that the major construction is over.
