Does your neighborhood participate in Halloween BOOing? Start a new Halloween tradition with these unicorn themed “You’ve Been BOOed” printables. BOOing is one of our favorite kid friendly Halloween traditions, we love surprising our neighbors with Halloween treats and trinkets! WHAT DOES “YOU’VE BEEN BOOed” MEAN?
BOOing is all about spreading the Halloween cheer in your neighborhood. Think of it as the “Secret Santa” of Halloween. A Halloween Boo is an anonymous gift, typically treats or trinkets, left on a doorstep by a neighbor or friend. BOOing instructions are typically left with the anonymous gift, encouraging the receiver to pay it forward and BOO another neighbor or two. The receiver also places a “We’ve Been BOOed” sign on their door to let others know that they’ve already been BOOed.
HOW DO I BOO SOMEONE FOR HALLOWEEN?
Print out the You’ve Been BOOed printables on white card stock paper. You can find them toward the bottom of this post. Cut the tags out and punch holes at the top of each tag.
Pick out Halloween themed candy or toys and place them inside a pumpkin bucket. Attach a “You’ve Been BOOed” tag using ribbon or twine. I decorated our buckets with foam unicorn masks (found at Oriental Trading Company). Place the printable “We’ve Been BOOed” and instruction sheet inside the bucket. Anonymously leave the BOO on the doorstep of a neighbor who has not yet been BOOed.

WHAT ARE SOME BOOing IDEAS?
There are no hard fast rules for BOOing gifts. You can get creative! We went with a unicorn theme for our BOOing gifts after browsing Oriental Trading Company and spotting so many fun options that fit with our theme! We especially loved the skeleton unicorn bendables, pumpkin unicorn magnet craft kits, stuffed unicorns, unicorn poop marshmallows and color your own unicorn cups. We also included pumpkin lollipops, light up pumpkin necklaces and neon ghost ring pops.
